snpz is run by Reisinger Media LLC of Elliottsburg, Pennsylvania. This page is about the snpz app: you pick a format, film the shots, drop your clips in, get a video edited for you, and post it to TikTok or Instagram. It says what we keep, what your phone lets the app use, how your clips are looked at while they are edited, who else handles them, how long we keep each thing, and how to delete it.
The short version: we only hold your clips, your voice and your videos long enough to make your video and let you save it, then we delete them on our own. Clips and voiceovers go 48 hours after the video last changed (a week at the most), and the finished video 30 days after it was made, so save the ones you want to your phone. We never sell them, never post them, never use them in our marketing without asking you, and train no AI models on them.
What we keep
- Your email. It is how you sign in: we email you a code (and, on the website, a link), and there is no password. You can start without it, as a guest: until you add it, your account has no email, only the sign-in cookie on that phone, and adding your email keeps the videos you made. A guest account holds what any account holds, and is deleted the same way.
- Your Instagram and TikTok usernames, if you give them when you sign up. "Sign up for snpz" asks for the ones where you told us you post, and both are optional. As you type one, Apify looks up that account's public profile for us, so the app can show you its picture and name and you can see it is the right account. We keep the usernames, which one you gave first, and a small copy of that account's public profile picture, shown at the top of your Home. The look-up itself (the username, the name and picture on the profile, and whether it is verified) is kept for about a day so we do not ask twice, and is cleared out the next time anyone looks a username up after that. Give only usernames that are yours. Your usernames go to our customer records (see "What we do with it"). Deleted with your account.
- Your setup: your username (the first Instagram or TikTok username you gave when you signed up, or one you picked), your town, the haircuts you do most, the language you talk in with clients, and what you film with (a phone stand or tripod, Meta glasses, someone to film you). (Before 2 October 2026 the page also asked barber or shop, a booking link and a logo; if you gave those, we still hold them until you delete your account.)
- Your cell number, only if you said yes to texts before 23 October 2026 ("Text me when my videos are done"). Sign-up no longer asks for a number, in the app or on the website. If we hold one, we use it for one text when a video of yours is ready, and it is in our own customer records (see "What we do with it"). Settings shows the number, with a button that removes it.
- The record of your yes or no to texts: the number, the exact words you saw beside the box, when you said yes or took it back, and the internet address and browser it came from. It is how we can show what you agreed to, so we keep it even after you delete your account.
- What you agreed to in the app, and when: that you agreed to the terms and this page (by tapping a button beside "By continuing, you agree to the Terms and Privacy Policy") and the date of the terms you agreed to; your OK, before you film, for Anthropic's Claude to see your clips, and which words you were shown; and your tick that you get your clients' OK before you film them, and a parent's or guardian's OK for anyone under 18. With each, the internet address and browser it came from. Deleted with your account.
- Your clips and your videos, their captions, and anything you ask us to change in a video. We delete the clips you filmed, and any voice note or voiceover you recorded, 48 hours after the video last changed (a week at the most, while its full-quality copy is still waiting on you). We delete the finished video 30 days after it was made, so save the ones you want to keep to your phone; My videos still lists it, with the template and the date, until you delete your account.
- A voiceover, if you record one on a finished video: the recording comes up to us like a clip, our computers lay it over the video, and it is deleted like your clips. The video with your voice on it is kept like your other videos.
- Videos your phone edits, in the iPhone app. Your phone can edit some formats itself (Before and after, Power of a haircut and Consultation), so the finished video is made on the phone. While this rolls out, the clips of a video your phone edits can still come up to us as well, as a back-up, and are kept and deleted like your other clips. For a Consultation edited on your phone, your phone writes down what was said (Apple's speech recognition, on the phone itself); it sends us only those words and when each one was said, so our editor can cut out the dead space, never the recording of the talk itself.
- Where the client's head is, in the iPhone app. When you film with the outline, your phone reads where the person's head is and which way it faces, so the app knows when to record and when to turn the outline. That reading is made on the phone and is numbers only: no picture of a face leaves it. The times and those numbers go up with the clip, so our editor keeps only the seconds the head was in the outline. They are kept and deleted with the clip.
- The videos on your phone, in the iPhone app, only if you allow it. If you tell the app you have haircut videos you never posted, it looks through the videos in your camera roll to find a haircut. The looking happens on your phone: your videos, their names and where they were filmed are not sent to us. Only the short pieces that go into your video are uploaded, and we keep them like your other clips. We also get a few numbers about the search, such as how many videos it looked at and how long it took, with no picture in them. You can say no, or turn it off in your phone's Settings, and film in the app instead.
- Your plan, if you start the free week or pay: monthly or yearly, whether it is in its free week or paid up, when it renews, and Stripe's reference numbers for you and your plan. Never your card: you type it into Stripe's own page, and we never see or store a card number.
- A code, if someone from snpz gave you one on a call: the code, your first name and theirs, the shop it was made for, and when you used it. We tell our team when you use it. Deleted with your account.
- A one-way fingerprint of your email, once you have had the free week, so it is given once per email. We cannot read your email back out of it; we can only check whether an email has had it.
- Your answers to the first questions the app asks when you open it: how often you post, what stops you, where you post, what you cut, the hours you usually cut (see "Your work hours"), whether you think posting more would bring you clients, whether you could post if someone did the work for you, and a referral code if you have one. (Earlier versions also asked which templates you like and how you work; we keep those answers if you gave them.) We use them to set up your week and your Home, and they go to our customer records (see "What we do with it"). Deleted with your account.
- How snpz did, if you answer: after you watch a video through, the app asks you to score it from 1 to 10 and say anything about it. Only our team reads it, to make snpz better. Deleted with your account.
- Your Instagram username, if you use the account-type check (Settings, or the Instagram step): the username you type, whether it is a personal, creator or business account, and when we checked, which Apify reads from your public profile for us. Type nothing and we keep nothing. Deleted with your account.
- Your work hours, if you give them (the first questions ask "What hours do you usually cut?", and Settings asks again): the days and hours you are at the shop and your phone's time zone. In the iPhone app, if you allowed notifications, we send at most one reminder on a work day, during those hours and never at night, to film a video. Change them in Settings. Deleted with your account.
- The videos you ask us to build: which videos in the feed you asked us to break down for you, and any you bookmarked before 5 October 2026, when saving left the app. Just the video and the time, nothing else.
- A video you add to your Templates grid stays on your phone. We do not get it or keep it unless you tap one of its two buttons. Make a video from it sends it to us as a clip, kept like your other clips. Copy this one sends it to our team so we can build a template from the way it is cut: only our team can watch it, we never post it or put it in anyone's video, and we delete the video when we have answered or 3 days after it arrived, whichever comes first. We keep the fact that you asked, and its file name, until you delete your account.
- Views you type in for a video you posted, and that you marked it posted, so My videos can show your month. Deleted with your account.
- In the iPhone app, only if you allow notifications: the token Apple gives that phone for our app, so we can tell you when a video is ready, remind you to film on a work day if you gave your work hours, remind you of your next shift if you ask for one, remind you a day before your free week ends, and, only if you turn it on in the app's Settings, ask you once a day, on a day you have not opened the app, if you are at the shop. A notification says only that. After three with no answer we stop until you open the app again. You can turn that daily question off there again. While you film your first video, one notification may remind you to film the after shot. We forget the token when you sign out on that phone, and it is deleted with your account.
- Your first steps in the app. That you opened it, which of the first questions you got through, what you answered when it asked if you were at the shop, when you started filming and when your first video was done, kept with your account so we can see where the app loses people. If you ask for a reminder, the time you picked and your phone's time zone, until it is sent. When you last opened the app and your phone's time zone, so the daily question comes at a sensible hour and never on a day you were already in, and when the app asked you to rate it on the App Store. Never sold, never shared, never used for ads. Deleted with your account.
- How the app ran on your phone: the steps you took when you tapped Post, how a preview played (if it stalled, how smoothly, where the song came in), what the camera did when it opened, and, when the app hits an error on your phone, the error's message and the screen it happened on. Step names, numbers and error text with no picture or sound, written to our server's log with your account's number so we can find and fix problems. The log rolls over on its own once it fills its fixed space, which today takes about a day; these lines are not kept with your account.
- A sign-in cookie on your phone, so you stay signed in for up to a year, or until you sign out. No ads and no trackers of our own, and no other cookies of ours. The templates' videos are played by TikTok, Instagram or YouTube and the grid's pictures come from TikTok (see below), and they may set their own.
Where we get it
Most of it comes from you and from the app on your phone, as listed above. Besides that: Stripe tells us whether a payment went through and when your plan renews; Apple gives us your phone's notification token; Apify reads the public Instagram or TikTok profile of a username you type at sign-up (its name, picture and whether it is verified); a code someone from snpz made for you carries the first names they typed; and if your shop was already in our customer records before you signed up (its public details, such as its name, phone number and Instagram, gathered from public listings for our sales), we match your account to it. Those records are covered by the privacy page on snpz.ai.
What we do with it
We make your videos, write their captions, show them to you, help you post them, send what you asked for (a sign-in code, "Your video is ready."), run your plan if you start one, and keep the app working and safe. Your videos come straight to you: nobody on our team checks them before you see them. Afterwards, to fix problems and make the editing better, our team may watch them and mark them good or bad, looks at the ones our editor flagged, and a daily check on one of our own computers measures each new video and then deletes its copy. We do not sell anything about you, we show no ads, and we never show your clips or videos to other customers.
When you sign up with your email, and each time you change your setup, our own customer records (the system our team uses to look after shops and to sell snpz) get your email, your cell number if you gave one, the Instagram and TikTok usernames you gave, your shop's name and town, your answers to the first questions, when you signed up, and later whether you started the plan, cancelled it or used a code. We use them to match you to your shop if it is already in those records, to know you use the app, and to help you. Our team may get in touch about snpz from there; tell us to stop and we will. Guest accounts are never sent. When you delete your account, your details are removed from those records; if you were matched to a shop, the shop's record keeps only that it had an account and when it was deleted. Deleting your account does not take your shop off our lists if it was there before you signed up: ask us to stop contacting you for that.
What your phone lets the app use
The app asks the first time it needs each of these. Saying no turns off only the part that needs it, and you can change your answer any time in your phone's Settings (on the website, in your browser's settings for app.snpz.ai).
- Camera: to film your clips in the app.
- Microphone: the sound of the clips you film, a voiceover on a finished video, and a voice note when you ask for a change.
- Photos, to save: to put a finished video in your Photos.
- Photos, to look, in the iPhone app: to find haircut videos you already have, on the phone, as said above.
- Speech recognition, in the iPhone app: to turn a Consultation's talk into words on the phone, as said above.
- Notifications, in the iPhone app: "Your video is ready." and the reminders you ask for.
The app never asks for your location, your contacts or your calendar. A video file you drop in can carry what your phone wrote into it, such as when and where it was filmed: we do not use where it was filmed, and the file is deleted like your other clips.
How your clips are looked at while they are edited
Your video is edited for you by our software, and most of that work is done by automated tools, not by a person. On our own computers they:
- measure each clip: sharpness, light, how the camera and the people in it move, and the beat of the song;
- find hands, faces and bodies in the frame and measure them in numbers: where a hand, a head or a shoulder is, which way a head faces, and simple expression numbers such as a smile or a blink, so the editor can pick the moment of a reaction;
- turn what is said in a clip into words with their times (a speech-to-text model that runs on our computers), for captions and to cut a talk;
- clean up the sound, such as the echo of the room, and match the colour of one shot to the next;
- in a Consultation, read the colour of each person's shirt, so their captions can match it.
They start on each clip as soon as it is uploaded, while you are still filming, so your video is ready sooner.
Some of these tools are AI models. One comes from outside: Anthropic's Claude, which sees still frames and a talk's words, as said under "Who else handles it". In a Consultation it also marks who is speaking and the tone of each line, to place the zooms, captions and sound effects. In the iPhone app your phone does some of this itself (the outline's head reading, the camera roll search and Apple's speech recognition), as said above.
The same-client check. A video must never cut from one client's before to another client's after. So Claude is shown three frames of each before and after clip, cut to the client's head and shoulders, and compares the client in them by face, skin tone, build, age and clothes. It answers only "same person", "different person" or "can't tell", with a few words why, and a clip of a different person is left out of the video. It never puts a name to anyone, and it never compares anyone with a person outside that one video.
No tool here looks anyone up or works out who they are, and nothing they measure is used to decide anything about you or your clients beyond how the video is cut. We do not train AI models on your clips, your voice or your videos. The working copies, measures and notes our editing computers make are deleted within 3 days. The record of how each video was cut (which moments, why, and what the same-client check answered, in words and numbers, with no picture or sound) stays with your account until you delete it.
We never put a song on your video ourselves: a song goes on only when you add one in TikTok or Instagram as you post.
Faces in your clips
Three parts of snpz work with the faces of the people you film, and only to cut the video:
- The outline, in the iPhone app: your phone reads where a head is and which way it faces. Only those numbers leave the phone, with the clip.
- Our editing computers measure faces, hands and bodies in numbers (where they are, which way a head faces, a smile or a blink) to pick each moment.
- The same-client check: Anthropic's Claude compares the client in the before and after clips, from frames cut to the client's head and shoulders, and answers same person, different person or can't tell, with a few words why.
None of this is used to recognise who anyone is or to look anyone up, and none of it is sold, shared for anything else, or used to train an AI model. How long it lasts: the numbers and frames on our editing computers are deleted within 3 days; the frames sent for the same-client check are handled by Anthropic under its own terms; the check's answer and its few words stay with the record of how the video was cut, and go when you delete your account or ask us to delete them. Getting the consent the law asks for from the people you film is yours to do (the terms, section 5). Someone you filmed can have our copy deleted, as under "Filming your clients".
Who else handles it
- Our server and its file storage hold your account and your files, at DigitalOcean, in the United States.
- Our own computers do the editing. They fetch your clips over links that expire, make the video, and send it back. They are in the United States, run by us, and delete their working copies within 3 days.
- Anthropic (its Claude model), only once you allow it on the screen the app shows before you film: to check each shot, our editor may show it still frames from your clips, and it says what is in the shot, such as which tool and where the blade is. For a Consultation, it also reads the words said in the talk, with their times, to mark where the real consultation starts and ends. It makes the same-client check above, and in a Consultation marks who is speaking and the tone of each line. Anthropic handles them under its own terms.
- Google (Gmail) sends the sign-in emails, from our booksnpzai@gmail.com account. It gets your email address and the link. It also sends the email that your video is ready, if you ask for one, and the email a day before your free week ends.
- Twilio sends our texts, only if you said yes to them: it gets your number and the text. Your replies come to our team's own system, and replying STOP also puts your number on our do-not-call list.
- Stripe is our payment processor, when you start the free week or pay for a plan. You pay on Stripe's own page: it gets your card and your email address, takes the payments, and keeps its own record of them (it has to, for tax and accounting), under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your card number.
- Apify reads public Instagram and TikTok profiles for us: the profile's name, picture and whether it is verified when you type a username at sign-up, and an Instagram account's type when you use the account-type check. It gets the username you typed, nothing else about you. Our server then fetches that profile picture from Instagram's or TikTok's own picture servers, so they see our server asking, not your phone.
- TikTok plays a template's video when you open the template, and beside a song video's preview, in its own player inside our page. On the templates grid, each template's picture is TikTok's own cover for that video: your browser gets it from TikTok as soon as the grid is on your screen, before you open anything. To load them fast, your browser also connects to TikTok each time the app opens. Either way your browser asks TikTok for that video or picture, so TikTok sees your IP address, browser and language, that the request came from snpz, and it may set its own cookies, under its own privacy policy. We send it nothing else about you. We never copy or keep those videos or pictures.
- Instagram plays a template that comes from Instagram the same way, in its own embed inside our page, when you open it: Instagram then sees your IP address, browser and language, and that the request came from snpz, and it may set its own cookies, under its own privacy policy. YouTube does the same for a template from YouTube Shorts, through its privacy-enhanced player.
- Google Fonts sends the lettering you see here (the Outfit typeface). Your browser asks Google for it, so Google sees your IP address, browser and language, and that the request came from snpz, as with any site that uses its fonts. Our pages send it nothing else.
- Apple, in the iPhone app: it delivers the "Your video is ready." notification if you allowed notifications, and it saves a video to your Photos or opens your share sheet when you tap for that, and, for a Consultation your phone edits, turns the talk into words on the phone itself. Under its own privacy policy.
- Instagram and TikTok get what you post, under their own rules. Post saves the video to your phone and opens the app you pick, which gets it from your phone; our server sends them nothing.
Each of these gets only what it needs to do its part.
Beyond them, we share what we hold about you only when the law makes us (a court order or a lawful request), to protect someone's safety, to stop fraud or abuse of snpz, or to defend our rights; and if snpz is sold or merged, with the new owner, who takes on the promises on this page.
Filming your clients
Ask before you film anyone. Before you film, the app asks you to tick, once, that you get your clients' OK before you film them, and a parent's or guardian's OK for anyone under 18. Every shot list says "Ask before you film" when a client is in the shot. Nobody is recorded in secret. Saving or posting a video is your promise that the people in it agreed to be filmed and posted (the terms, section 5).
If you were filmed by a barber who uses snpz, the barber's clips of you are theirs to answer for, and they are deleted on the times below anyway. To have our copy deleted sooner, email us at the address below with the shop's name and the day you were filmed: we find it and delete it within 5 business days. A video they already posted is theirs to take down, on TikTok or Instagram.
How long we keep it
- The clips you film or drop in, voice notes and voiceovers: 48 hours after the video last changed, a week at the most.
- A finished video, its play copies and its cover picture: 30 days after it was made. My videos still lists it, with the template and the date, and the record of how it was cut and its caption stay with your account until you delete it.
- The working copies, measures and notes our editing computers make: 3 days at the most.
- A copy our daily check makes of a new video: deleted as soon as it is measured.
- A video you sent us to copy: until we answer, 3 days at the most.
- The lines in our server's log: they roll over on their own, oldest first, once the log fills its fixed space (today about a day), and are not kept with your account.
- A sign-up look-up of a username (the profile's name, picture and whether it is verified): about a day.
- Your account, your setup, your usernames and profile picture, your work hours, your first steps and the rest of the list above: until you delete your account (a guest account too).
- Our backups: the 14 newest daily copies of our database, kept on our server and on one of our own computers, so about two weeks. Something deleted from the app can sit in a backup until then, and is never put back except to recover from a fault.
- The record of your yes and no to texts: kept after you delete your account, as proof of what you agreed to.
- The one-way fingerprint of your email: kept after you delete your account, so the free week is given once per email.
- If you were matched to a shop in our customer records: that it had an account, and when it signed up and deleted it, kept on the shop's record.
- Your payments: Stripe keeps its own record of them for as long as tax and accounting law asks.
Deleting
In the app, Settings, then Delete my account. It cancels a plan you pay for first, then removes your account, your setup, your logo, your clips, your videos, the videos you asked us to build or bookmarked, the videos you sent us to copy, your answers to the first questions, your scores of snpz, a code you used, your work hours, your Instagram and TikTok usernames and profile picture, your Instagram check, your phone's notification token, your plan, the videos you marked posted, the record of how each video was cut and the record of what you agreed to in the app, and it removes your details from our customer records. It cannot be undone. You can also delete one video at a time, or ask us by email to delete your account for you.
- Videos you already posted stay on Instagram or TikTok until you delete them there: on Instagram, open the video, tap the three dots, then Delete.
- We keep a few things after you delete your account: the record of your yes and no to texts, with the number, as proof of what you agreed to; if you had the free week, we keep a one-way fingerprint of your email so a free trial is given once per email; and, on a shop already in our customer records, that it had an account and when.
- What is already in our backups or on an editing computer goes on the times above.
Your choices and rights
- See it, or get a copy: Post saves any video to your phone while we hold it. For a copy of everything else we hold about you, email us.
- Fix it: change your work hours in Settings, or email us for anything else.
- Delete it: as above, any time.
- Say no: to texts (reply STOP), notifications and the camera roll search (your phone's Settings), and the daily question (the app's Settings). You can also say no to Claude seeing your clips, on the screen the app shows before you film; we cannot make your videos without it, so nothing is filmed or sent until you say OK.
We answer an email about any of these within 30 days, and first make sure it comes from the email on your account. We do not sell anything about you or share it for ads, so there is nothing to opt out of there; a browser's Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal is honoured the same way, because we never track you across other sites. Some states' laws, such as California's, give you these rights in their own words; ask, and you get them whichever state you live in.
Keeping it safe
A sign-in link works once, for 10 minutes. Each account's videos are walled off from every other account's. The links that play or download your videos expire within a few hours. Everything between your phone and us travels encrypted (HTTPS). When a sign-in code is typed wrong, we keep a scrambled form of the email and the time for about an hour, to stop guessing. No system is perfectly safe, and we cannot promise that nobody will ever get at what we hold. If you think something has gone wrong, tell us at the address below. If someone gets at what we hold about you, we tell you as the law requires.
Children
The app is a tool for barbers and barbershops in the United States, for people 13 and over. It is not meant for children under 13 to use, and we do not knowingly keep an account of a child under 13. If you think a child under 13 has given us something, tell us at the address below and we will delete it. Barbers do film children's haircuts: getting a parent's or guardian's yes first is the barber's to do (the terms, section 5), and a parent can have our copy deleted as under "If you were filmed".
Where it is kept
snpz is for people in the United States. Your account and files are kept on servers in the United States.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, we email you before the change takes effect, and the date at the top moves.
